The Haynes Repair Manual series offers the occasional or the serious do-it-yourselfer an attractively priced alternative the the factory manuals.  Even if you can afford the factory manuals, the Haynes manuals have tips for performing repairs when you do not have the special Volvo tools or diagnostic devices that the factory shop manual refers to.   Check the tool box of most any Volvo 122/Amazon owner and you are almost certain to find a Haynes manual...

Chilton has been making repair manuals for years.  They offer good value and decent information.  It can be useful to have more than one manual on hand so that a second opinion can be derived.  Chilton manuals are priced so that it is possible to have one in addition to another Volvo shop manual and still save some money.

The Bently manuals are considered by many to be the best on the market, bar none.  Some shade tree mechanics prefer the Bently manuals to the original factory shop manuals!

B.L.: I will read almost anything - most influence from Wilson Mc Comb´s books about M.G. history. They are well-researched, authoritative and to the point.
