Pelican 1510
Carry On Case
I have a job that gets me in the air from
time to time. I like to take my camera and lenses with me but
want something that will fit the overhead compartment, and in a
pinch (when called to do so) be checked from the Jetway.
As much as I'd rather not be separated from
my gear, this case provides a good level of protection for my
stuff. And of course, what fun would it be lugging 40 pounds of
gear around the airport by the handle? This case has wheels and
a handle that extends from the case making it really easy to
roll the contents rather than carry.
I purchased the version with padded
dividers and added the lid organizer. It was easy to lay out the
padded dividers so that my gear was nicely laid out, and easy to
get to. The lid organizer is useful for the little bits that
travel - filters, batteries, charger, level. Too bad the tripod
doesn't fit inside...
The Pelican 1519 Lid Organizer for 1510 and
1514 Case came with five good screws and one screw with no
threads. After a few minutes of trying to screw it into the
cover I took a good look at it and discovered it was never going
to screw in. I am sure Pelican will replace it for me.
This case reminds me of my Zero Halliburton
cases. Same seal, same claim of waterproof, dustproof
reliability. Seems like this is going to work well for me! Solid
walls, rugged handles, and replaceable wheels (I wear them
out)...
